Thanks to openers Sunil Patil and Shrikant Limboles hurricane 138 run-opening stand,debutantes Mumbai Police City Riders opened their campaign in a thundering manner by routing Thane Marathas by 91 runs in their opening tie in a T-20 Cricket League,which took off at Police Gym khana,Marines Lines,today.
The hosts,batting first,rattled up 186 for 5 off 15 overs with Sunil hitting 66 with six fours and four sixes,while Shrikants 67 had seven fours and four sixes. The match was reduced to 15 overs due to delayed start. In reply,Thane Maathas just failed to match the efforts of their opponents and fell short by 91 runs.
The only saving grace for the Thane outfit was the fine innings of Aman Khan,who hit 72 off 42 balls.
