Morning Calm in India
Commemorating the 40th anniversary of Indo-Korean relations,an exhibition in the Capital hosts works by 29 Korean and Indian artists. Together,they reflect a journey for arts own sake and revisit forms that are static,often traversing boundaries. Curated by Min Joo Lee from South Korea and Indian artist Kalicharan Gupta,the exhibition is titled Spirit of Forms and is on at Dhoomimal Art Centre,A-8 Connaught Place,till May 15. The Platinum Act
Taking the Sorcar legacy forward is renowned Indian magician PC Sorcar Jr,son of Late PC Sorcar. He will celebrate 100 years of their popular production,Indrajal,this year. Known to involve about 75 on-and-off stage artistes,with laser lights,original music,jadoo girls and about 50 acts of illusions,the 130-minute-long show will be staged in the city till June 9. War on War War on Walls
Artist,academician and art historian KG Subramanyan depicts wars from ancient times to the present day in his massive murals displayed in diptych format at Sakshi Gallery. The 9 feet x 36 feet mural was unveiled at this years India Art Fair in Delhi and the exhibition will continue to be displayed at the Colaba gallery till June 3. Contact: 66103424
Children at Play
Mumbai-based theatre group Gillo,which exclusively produces plays for children,will stage five productions in the city this month. These include Taoos Chaman ki Myna in Hindustani,Mister Jeejeebhoy and the Birds and Grannys Sari in English,and Kyun Kyun Ladki in Hindi at Prithvi Theatre on May 21 and 22 and at Experimental Theatre,NCPA,between May 24-26. Group Effort
The Collectives is a group show that showcases works of 10 artists from across the country. The paintings,photographs and sculptures on display depict various themes,thoughts and reflections of the artists,with a series on Buddha,Holi celebrations in Brij,cut-out photography and ceramic sculptures forming part of the display. Watercolour Landscapes
As a boy,Kalidas Deshpande used to make portraits of famous personalities such as Stalin and John F Kennedy. Later,he started painting watercolour landscapes,following which he began carrying his colours and brushes everywhere he went. A collection of his watercolours is on display in his first solo exhibition at Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park,until May 15.

Family Stories
On May 16,Swatantra Theatre will stage a Hindi adaptation of the biographical novel Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr and Emestine Gilbreth Carey.
