Maharashtra Assembly polls: Nilesh Rane joins Shiv Sena in presence of Shinde

Nilesh would be in a fray against Sena UBT leader and staunch opponent of Rane family Vaibhav Naik, who is the sitting MLA from the seat.

Nilesh Rane, son of BJP leader and former Union Minister Narayan Rane, on Wednesday joined the Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Rane will contest from the Kudal-Malvan constituency in the upcoming Assembly polls. Rane joined the party at a convention of Shiv Sena workers in Kudal which was attended by Shinde.

Nilesh would be in a fray against Sena UBT leader and staunch opponent of Rane family Vaibhav Naik, who is the sitting MLA from the seat.

Naik had defeated Narayan Rane from the Kudal-Malvan constituency in 2014. Nilesh’s brother Nitesh Rane is the sitting BJP MLA from Kankavali constituency and will be in the fray again this year to retain the seat.

Meanwhile, CM Shinde on Wednesday visited Guwahati with his family members to visit Kamakhya temple.
