Sheetal Mafatlal,husband Atulya end row

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday quashed the harassment complaints.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday quashed the harassment complaints filed by socialite Sheetal Mafatlal against her husband Atulya after they arrived at a settlement.

On August 7,Mafatlal group chairman Atulya had tendered a written apology to Sheetal and agreed to let her stay in the Mafatlal residence in Altamount Road area.

According to the consent terms filed in the HC,Sheetal will continue to stay in the Mafatlal House with Atulya and have exclusive possession of her bedroom. In case of a divorce sought by Atulya,he will buy her a house at a location of her choice. She will also retain possession of the artwork and furniture.

Since, the dispute between Sheetal and other members of the family — matriarch Madhuri,Atulya’s sister Gayatri Zaveri and brother Ajay — had not been resolved, the court had directed them to apologise to each other and resolve their differences.

However,Sheetal and Gayatri failed to bury the hatchet and the latter’s case for quashing the complaints filed by Sheetal is pending before the court.

On July 17,2011,Sheetal had filed three complaints against Atulya and her in-laws alleging cruel treatment, theft of paintings and streedhan. She had also alleged that Atulya, who was undergoing treatment for cancer in London, had “masterminded” her removal from her matrimonial home.
