Police foil dacoity plan,arrest four

The police got the information that five men would assemble at Kiran Industrial Estate in Goregaon to plan a dacoity.

“Acting on the information,we formed teams of policemen in plain clothes and laid a trap at the said place. During the afternoon,five men matching the description gathered at the spot and started behaving in a very suspicious manner,” said Senior Police Inspector Laxman Gore from the Goregaon police station.

The policemen surrounded them and managed to apprehend four out of the five. They are on the lookout for the fifth accused.

“The men were carrying a country made revolver,a kukri,an iron rod and chilli powder,” said Gore.

The four men have been charged for making preparations to commit dacoity and have been remanded to police custody for further enquiries.
