Going East

After a successful edition last year,Cool Japan Festival returns to Mumbai this month. The three-day festival will showcase Japanese culture and feature items from several Japanese brands. The event will host cultural performances including Wadiako drums,Enka performance and Anime fashion shows. This apart,there will also be the fifth edition of the Japanese street food festival Washoku,which will see Japanese delicacies being served in the modern,fast food way.

Trance in Town

IN 2001,Armin van Buuren launched a radio show titled A State of Trance. Over the next few years,the Dutch DJ established himself as one of the pioneers of trance music in the world,and has been elected the No 1 DJ in the world five times by DJ Magazine — more than any other DJ in the world. This evening,the DJ and producer will celebrate the 600th episode of his radio show with a concert in Mumbai at Turf Club. Buuren will be supported by Egyptian trance duo Aly & Fila,Canada’s Arnej,the Dutch trance act Rank 1 and American DJ Shogun. Slated to begin at 2 pm,the gig will be kicked off by two local support acts,Arnej at 4 pm followed by Rank 1,Shogun and Aly & Fila. Buuren will take the stage at 8 pm for a two hour-long set.
