29 of 53 NCP MLAs attend Ajit Pawar’s meet in major show of strength: Here’s the full list

From among those present at Ajit Pawar's meeting, eight MLAs are those who had been sworn into the state Cabinet along with Pawar on Sunday.

In a major show of strength, at least 29 MLAs and and 4 MLCs from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) marked their attendance at newly inducted Maharashtra Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s meeting at the Mumbai Education Trust on Wednesday.

This comes as another meeting of NCP leaders from the opposing faction – led by party supremo Sharad Pawar – was held at at YB Chavan Centre.

In addition, four out of the eight NCP MLCs were also present at the meeting in Bandra.

Deputy CM Pawar unfurled the NCP flag at the MET, along with other party leaders. From among those present, eight MLAs – Chhagan Bhujbal, Hasssan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde, Dilip Walse Patil, Dharmarao Baba Atram, Aditi Tatkare, Anil Patil, and Sanjay Bansode – are those who had been sworn into the state Cabinet along with Pawar on Sunday.

Aditi Tatkare, who represents Shrivardhan in Raigad district and is the daughter of Sunil Tatkare, is the first woman minister in the Eknath Shinde government. On the other hand, 65-year-old Dilip Walse Patil, son of late Congress MLA Dattatray Walse Patil, had started his career as Sharad Pawar’s secretary.

Ajit Pawar had on Sunday joined hands with the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra to become the deputy chief minister, after leading a revolt in the NCP, triggering a split. The party has 53 MLAs in the state legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, former BJP heavyweight turned NCP MLC Eknath Khadse, Jitendra Awhad, Anil Deshmukh, Rajendra Shingne, Prajakt Tanpure, Ashok Pawar, Jayant Patil, and others have arrived at Sharad Pawar’s meeting at the YB Chavan Centre.
