NCP member from Ajit Pawar faction hacked to death in Mumbai’s Byculla

A police team reached the spot following information at the police control room and rushed an injured Kurmi to Sir J. J. Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.A group of unidentified men allegedly hacked to death a member of the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party in the Byculla area of Mumbai on Saturday morning, the police said.
The deceased Sachin Kurmi, alias Munna, 45, was the Byculla Vidhan Sabha taluka president of the NCP.
According to the police, Kurmi was attacked with a sharp weapon on the chest, neck, hands, and stomach around 1 am on Anant Pawar Road.
A police team reached the spot following information at the police control room and rushed an injured Kurmi to Sir J J Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.
The Byculla police have registered a murder case and are on the lookout for the unidentified attackers.
The police are investigating if the crime was the fallout of any political rivalry or over any personal issues, an officer said.
The police are also scanning the CCTV footage of the area to get an idea of the killers.
