(Screenshot: X/@mybmc)Water supply has been suspended in several pockets of Mumbai city due to the repair work being undertaken to fix a major leak at Powai’s Tansa water pipeline reported early on Tuesday.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the areas from Powai to Dharavi that have been affected include S ward, K-east ward, G-North ward and H-East ward.
The repair works are expected to be completed over the next 24 hours, said the BMC, while appealing to the residents to use water judiciously.
Water supply from the Tansa pipeline was suspended following the leak on the Tansa west pipeline situated near the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road Bridge early on Tuesday,
In its bulletin, the BMC has stated that areas of S ward (Bhandup), K-east ward (Andheri East), G-North ward (Dadar, Matunga, Mahim) and H-East ward (encompassing parts of Santacruz, Khar, Bandra) will face water supply disruptions during the period of repair.
