Mercury stays below normal,minimum up

The city continued to experience below normal daytime temperatures on Saturday though the Met department had expected a rise in temperatures after Friday. However,minimum temperatures increased to settle around normal. Weathermen do not expect an appreciable change in temperatures over the next two days. The city is in transition from winter to summer and the Met department had forecast that temperatures would increase after Friday. However,on Saturday,Santacruz recorded a maximum temperature of 29 degree Celsius (°C),below its normal of 32°C and Colaba recorded 28.5°C,below its normal of 30°C. However,minimum temperatures increased around two degrees from the previous day to settle at 21°C in the island city and 17.9°C in the suburbs. “We do not expect a significant change in both maximum and minimum temperatures in the next two days,” said the officer-on-duty at IMD.
