‘Me Mukhyamantri Boltoy’ programme to make a comeback soon

The programme then landed in controversy over the extravagant cost associated with it despite it being an in-house production and shot inside the studio in Mantralaya with available set up. It was telecasted then on Sahyadri television channel of Doordarshan.

Marking the beginning of election year, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will soon address the people of the state through ‘Me Mukhyamantri Boltoy’ (This is Chief Minister speaking) programme. This will be the comeback of the programme started in 2017 by the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, but was later discontinued.

The General Administration Department (GAD) on August 3 issued a Government Resolution giving administrative approval to seek e-tenders to appoint a company which will produce the audio-visual programme. The newer version will be for television as well as for radio. As per the initial schedule, the programme will be produced twice a month. The programme is perceived as an equivalent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat.’

Fadnavis, during his tenure as the Chief Minister, addressed over nine such programmes where he spoke on various issues such as farmers, agriculture, water conservation, environment etc. As per the design of the programme, questions were sought from the people of the state on relevant topics and Fadnavis addressed those issues in his speech.

The programme then also landed in controversy over the extravagant cost associated with it despite it being an in-house production and shot inside the studio in Mantralaya with available set up. It was telecasted then on Sahyadri television channel of Doordarshan.

“As per the GR, it seems that a private company will be appointed this time to produce the programme. The government has given the administrative approval for the same. This time, the programme is likely to be designed for the social media particularly. Once the formalities of selecting the company are completed, we will come to know about the format of the new version of the programme,” an officer from the Chief Minister’s office said.
