Man shoots self accidentally

Bharat Misra,38,a resident of Khar,accidentally shot himself in the head on Saturday morning at a friend’s place in Bangur Nagar at Goregaon while showing his friends how to load and unload a revolver. The condition of Mishra,who has been admitted to Sai Clinic Hospital,is reportedly critical.

Inspector Arun Walzade of Bangur Nagar police said,“The incident occurred at the residence of one Rojena Panjwani on Link Road in Goregaon,where Panjwani had invited his friends for a get-together on Friday night. Mishra,one of the guests,had taken his licensed revolver to the event.”

He said an inebriated Mishra had displayed how the gun works to friends. “While showing how to load and unload it,he accidentally pressed the trigger; the bullet hit Mishra in his head.”

The friends rushed him to the clinic. “We are taking down the statements of people at the get-together to verify the sequence of events and rule out any foul play. Mishra might be charged with negligence as his act could have led to injury or even death,” Walzade said.
