Man held for raping minor

Bangur Nagar police Saturday arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly raping a five year-old girl at Goregaon (West).

Police said the girls mother,a domestic help,is a resident of Kaanchpada and leaves the child in the custody of her elder siblings.

On Saturday morning,when the mother returned home,the girl was missing,police said. She then searched the locality and spotted the accused,Rajesh Nayak,dragging her daughter in a lane. The woman raised an alarm and residents nabbed Nayak. They beat him up and handed him over to the police.

The mother found the girl bleeding,police said,and asked her what had happened. The girl narrated the incident to her,said an officer.
