Man held for Girgaum murder

The V P Road Police on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the murder in Padmavati Building compound,in Girgaum on March 8. After initially registering an accidental death report (ADR),the police filed a case of murder against the accused on the basis of the post-mortem results.

The accused,Rakesh Singh,was arrested for the murder of Indramohan Ramkaran (32). The police are also on the lookout for Singh’s alleged accomplice in the case. “We changed the case to a murder case on Tuesday on the basis of the post-mortem reports and arrested Singh. He has been charged under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. We are also on the lookout for his accomplice,who is absconding. Investigations are on,” Chavan said.Singh was produced in court on Wednesday and has been remanded in police custody until March 30.
