One person travelling atop a local was electrocuted on Sunday. This is the third such incident in week. Around 1.45 am,the 25-year-old man who was sleeping on top of a local was electrocuted between Mira Road and Bhayander stations. He was taken to Bhagwati Hospital,where he was declared dead. In another incident,a 29-year-old man,however,had a miraculous escape after he fell from a bridge on to the high-tension wires between Vile Parle and Santacruz stations. Sources said the man,who is allegedly a drug addict,was safely brought down after authorities switched the power off.
On Sunday,Fardeen Khan (23),resident of Andheri,was electrocuted while he came to contact with high tension wire on roof top of the local train. He was declared dead. In another incident on the same day,two commuters travelling on the roof of a goods train came into contact with the overhead wire near Khadavali station.
