Voting for Maharashtra’s local body elections begins on 2 December 2025, with EVMs used across all polling stations and results on 3 December. (Representative image)Maharashtra Municipal Election 2025: Maharashtra’s first phase of local-body elections will take place on 2 December 2025. Polling hours will be regulated by the Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC). Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for the exercise.
Once votes are counted, results for the municipal councils or nagar panchayats in this phase will be declared on December 21.
Following this, subsequent phases will cover other types of local bodies: zilla parishads, panchayat samitis, and municipal corporations.
The SEC has indicated that all local body polls must be completed by 31 January 2026, as directed by the Supreme Court of India.
Voting will be held as per Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) guidelines.
The SEC has completed all nomination and verification formalities.
