At A discussion on The Great Gatsby,held in Mumbai on Thursday evening,Amitabh Bachchan ditched his much-criticised Cannes wardrobe for a simple yet stylish black suit. As part of an interview conducted by The Global Gujarati editor Abhinav Aggarwal,Bachchan drew parallels between the Hollywood film,directed by Baz Lurhmann,and Bollywood masala entertainers. He said,“A poor man,Gatsby is in love with a girl who gets married to this rich billionaire when he goes to war,believing he will never return. Gatsby aims to create enough wealth to bring her back. The story is quite close to the kind we make in India,” he said. Point well-made.
