Loud bang,then down in seconds

It took seconds for parts of the ground-plus-one building to collapse after a loud explosion,said eyewitnesses.

Teenager Firoz Vagher who lives in the building opposite Jamnadas Building,was standing in his drawing room when he heard the explosion. It was deafening, said Vagher,who said he saw the building collapse with his own eyes as he stood at his window.

That same instant,all our windowpanes broke and went flying in all directions,landing all over the floor. In fact some pieces of the glass from the window fell on me and Ive an on injury my back.

Moving around his house to explain the impact of the collapse,he said, It seemed just out of a movie. In seconds,portions of the rooms above the shops on the ground floor had collapsed with a loud thud,as people shouted and rushed towards the building to help. The plywood and all other material in our bathroom,which is at the other end of the balcony,also broke up, Vagher said.

To his relief,15 aquariums,his life long collection of fish,stayed intact.
