Kaustubh Dhavse appointed Chief Advisor for Investments & Strategy to CM Devendra Fadnavis

Kaustubh Dhavse, who was serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has been appointed the Chief Advisor (Investments & Strategy) to the CM.

The General Administration Department (GAD) on Tuesday formally announced the appointment of Dhavse.

In an official statement, Dhavse said it was a great honour to serve Maharashtra in the new role.

“I look forward to driving strategic investments and accelerating transformative initiatives under the visionary leadership of Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis,” Dhavse said.

Dhavse had played key roles in several mega projects during Fadanvis’ previous tenure as the chief minister from 2014 to 2019. When Fadnavis became Deputy CM in the Eknath Shinde-led government from 2022 to 2024, Dhavse was part of the team too.

According to sources, Dhavse has been entrusted with war room coordination for mega infrastructure projects, leading critical areas including investment promotion and policy design, foreign direct investment (FDI) facilitation, and implementation of large-scale IT initiatives.

Dhavse’s appointment signals the state government’s renewed focus on accelerating economic reforms and attracting global investments.

Earlier, Dhavse was appointed as the Joint Secretary in the Maharashtra government, designated as Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister.

He was overseeing the Chief Minister’s ‘war room”, a unit to monitor and drive key infrastructure and technology projects in the state.

Dhavse, earlier, had a successful stint in the corporate sector where he worked in companies such as Solectron Inc., HP Inc., and Frost and Sullivan.

An electronics engineer from the Mumbai University, Dhavse holds an MBA from the SP Jain Institute of Management Studies. He also has a public policy degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
