Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday set out for the five day World Economic Forum, Davos Summit.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said he would unravel the roadmap of his government to attract major investors to Maharashtra at the Davos Summit.
Hours before leaving for the World Economic Summit, late Tuesday evening Fadnavis said, “I will go extra mile to showcase the great potential of Maharashtra. My single mission at Davos Summit is to represent Maharashtra in its true letter and spirit with an underlying message that Maharashtra is the best destination when it comes to engaging in serious business.” Fadnavis will return on January 25.
Fadnavis said, “The major reforms ushered by the state government after BJP came to power would also be emphasised in all critical sectors. I am confident investors will come to see the state and make huge investments.”

The political stability coupled with major reforms in economic sectors undertaken by centre and state have laid the grounds for boosting the confidence of the industries abroad, he exuded.
Before setting out for the summit, Fadnavis held a meeting with chief secretary Swadeen Kshtriya and principal secretary Praveen Pardesi to recap the last minute preparations for the summit. The day was marked with diverse engagements ending with an hour long meeting held with BJP elected members of state legislature and members of parliament at Vidhan Bhawan.
In a candid admission, Fadnavis said, “I am running out of time. I have not even begun my packing for the Davos Summit.” But assured, “We are confident to get the big investors to visit and invest in Maharashtra.”
Fadnavis has chalked out his agenda which includes one to one meetings with more than 30 global business leaders. Fadnavis said, “During the one to one meeting with the business leaders our emphasise would be to show case Maharashtra was the most preferred destination when it comes to investments in diverse sectors.” The chief minister is also looking ahead to make a presentation biotechnology and sustainable food and water.
According to Fadnavis, “The subject would range along several aspects including climatic changes and challenges ahead in sustainable food and water sectors.” Apart from outlining the policy measures undertaken by state on the lines of centre, we would also engage the investors for long term partnership in Maharashtra, he said.
The World Economic Forum president Klaus Schwab has specially invited Fadnavis to attend the summit. He will be accompanied by union minister for finance Arun Jaitley and union minister for power Piyush Goyal. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu will also be part of the delegation from India.
