Gafoor among top cops shifted

Nearly a year after the state government had created the post of DGP (special operations),it has now downgraded it by appointing an additional director-general to the post. Sources said Sanjeev Dayal had been appointed Addl DG (special operations). The DG (special operations) controls anti-Naxal operations (ANO),and heads ATS and Force One. The post had been vacant after Jayant Umranikar retired on December 31 as DG (special operations). Former Mumbai police commissioner and DG (Housing) Hassan Gafoor has been appointed DG (Anti-corruption bureau). Addl Director-General (Law and Order) PP Srivastava has been promoted as DG (Housing).
