Four held for assaulting cop

The Malwani police on Wednesday arrested four persons for allegedly manhandling a policeman and damaging property at the police station. The accused,Saeeda Shaikh,Naseem Shaikh,Kamrunnisa Muniya and Adil Shaikh,were at the police station to report a dispute with their tenant,Naeem Khan.

Police said The accused asked him to vacate the house,which he allegedly refused to do. After Khan refused to vacate the house,the accused brought him to the police station where the two sides had an argument. The accused broke a glass pane at the police station and threatened Khan,said the police.

“When assistant inspector Dnyandev Kedar tried to intervene,the accused manhandled him,” said Abdul Rauf Shaikh,senior inspector of Malwani police station. mThey will be produced before a metropolitan court on Thursday,said the police.
