Twenty-four days after the skeletal remains of a minor were found under the Eastern Freeway in Wadala, police arrested four men for allegedly kidnapping, sodomising and murdering the six-year-old. According to police, the four were picked up from various places across the eastern suburbs on Saturday and arrested at around 11 pm. Police said they had recovered evidence and recorded statements of several people who lived or worked around the area from where the boy was kidnapped, which subsequently led them to the spot where the body had been dumped. The minor was allegedly kidnapped from outside his home in a slum in Wadala on October 13, and his remains found nearly three months later in a highly decomposed state. “More than 200 people in the area, mainly drug addicts, who used the shelter below the Freeway, were quizzed. We narrowed it down to these four accused,” an investigator said. The four were produced in Kila court on Sunday morning.
