Festival in the Park

The fifth edition of The Park’s New Festival began in Chennai on August 29,following which the festival will tour Delhi,Hyderabad,Bengaluru,Mumbai and Kolkata. Conceptualised and curated by the Park Hotels and Prakriti Foundation,the festival’s aim is to promote emerging and new artistes. Events include dance,music and theatre performances,and in Mumbai,these will be held from September 9 to 11. A discussion and performance on online jugalbandi led by Ranjit Barot and a performance by American clarinetist Shankar Tucker and Troupe at Blue Frog,Lower Parel,on the first day. A theatrical routine of D’FunQT,an act by D’Lo,a queer Tamil Sri Lankan-American theatre artiste,at St Andrews College,Bandra,will be held on the following day. On the final day,also at St. Andrews College,is a contemporary dance performance by Akram Khan.
