A brace from Fenil Singh helped his R.N Podar team to a 3-0 victory against IES Manik,Bandra in the Mumbai leg of the Airtel Rising Stars,held at the Veitenary College Hostel ground in Parel. Tandg Kulkarni scored Podar’s third.
In another match,Bengali Education High School,Dadar beat M. H. Saboo Siddik,Byculla by 2-0. Kiran Medas and Harshad Powar from Bengali Education High School,Dadar scored one goal each and helped their team enter the second round. While,Aditya Birla,Tardeo defeated Maulana Azad,Byculla 1-0,the winning goal scored by Aniket Sarkar,gave his team their first win in the prestigious league.

Bombay Gymkhana teams impress
Bombay Gymkhana Wizards and Phantoms won both home and away matches in the second week of the BSAM World Zoroastrian Organisation Trust Mumbai Snooker League. The Wizards overcame Mumbai Port Trust Pawar Sixers in Group A,while Phantoms beat Khar Gymkhana Contenders in Group F to earn five points each,including a bonus point,taking their total tally to 10 points. P.J. Hindu Gymkhana Ocean Sevens and Wodehouse Gymkhana Woody Woodpeckers also won home and away ties to earn five points for a tally of 10.
Vishal Gehani of Park Club Samurais hit the highest break of 41,while V. Raja Subramaniam of Matunga Gymkhana Gentlemen hit a break of 38.
