Drama in Indian hospitals

Star India has reportedly purchased rights to adapt American tele-series Grey’s Anatomy.

In the fierce competition among various Indian television channels,Star Plus has always managed to remain in the top three. And now, with Colors and Sony experimenting with adapting international content for the Indian audience — the former with American tele-series 24 and the latter with Boss — Star India, the channel’s parent company, isn’t willing to stay far behind. Through Endemol India,Star India is said to have acquired rights to the popular American hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy. The show will be developed and produced by Endemol India and is likely to follow the seasonal pattern, which is being encouraged on Indian television at the moment. Although chances are high that the big-ticket show will be aired on Star Plus, there is no confirmation on it yet. Work on the show is yet to begin and it is likely to go on air in the second half of 2014.
