Double murder: Couple was happy when son returned

Nasreen,who is settled in Chennai,said in her statement to the police that her brother was disturbed after the death of his wife and had become an introvert. “I spoke to Moiz 15 days ago,but did not notice anything strange. He was disturbed,but we did not expect him to take such an extreme step,” Nasreen said.

Nasreen added that her parents,particularly her mother Zubieda,was happy that her eldest son was living with them and taking care of them. “My parents could have never been ‘mean and spiteful’ to Moiz,” she said.

Meanwhile,the MIDC police have not got any leads on the whereabouts of Moiz. “Suspecting that Moiz may attempt suicide,we have alerted all the hospitals,railway stations and police stations across the state. A team has also gone to Pune along with Moiz’s son Hussain to check with his friends and former employers,” said PI Mohan Waghmare from MIDC police station.

“Besides,we are also checking with the restaurants in Mumbai where Moiz had previously worked. Moiz had the habit of disappearing for days from his parents’ house and stay at his workplace. We have many missing complaints lodged by his parents,” said Waghmare.

According to the police,there was no particular motive behind the murders. “Moiz was mentally disturbed and might have killed his parents while they were asleep. He stayed with the bodies for two days. He had covered the bodies with a bedsheet,” a police officer said.

The double murder was discovered on Monday evening after residents of Manisha Apartment located on Church Road in Andheri east complained of foul smell emanating from Bharmals residence.
