The Mumbai Police Crime Branch,investigating the double murder of two men by unidentified assailants near the busy Malad railway station on Wednesday, have prepared sketches of the killers.
According to Crime Branch officers,the four suspects have been identified to be history-sheeters and have matched the description provided by the autorickshaw driver who was forced to drive them a short distance. The suspects are wanted in similar cases in Vile Parle,sources said.
The police are now circulating the sketches to police stations across the city to trace the four killers. The police have also alerted their informers to help them nab the killers.
Police said,the two men Paras Parmar (48) and his employee Hemant Bishnoi (35) were returning home with 7 kgs of gold and Rs 15 lakh,on Wednesday when the four men carrying choppers intercepted them and attacked them.
The victims used to get gold from Zaveri Bazaar and supply it to jewellery shops in Malad. Police said,Parmar,a resident of Raheja township in Malad (East),had got 11kgs of gold on Wednesday,and after selling some to jewellers in Natraj Market,the two went to a bank in Malad (West) and withdrew Rs 15 lakh.
After attacking the two men,the assailants decamped with the gold. A few meters away,they got into an autorickshaw and threatened its driver at knife-point to drive towards Liberty Garden. The accused then pushed the autorickshaw driver out,and fled with the vehicle,which is yet to traced.
We have a few suspects on watch and are making attempts to trace the four. We have learnt that the four are professionals and have committed such crimes earlier as well, a Crime Branch officer said.
