Police officers investigating the Juhu rave party case in which 86 people had tested positive for narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances said they would call only four-five persons each day as detailed statements and investigations had to be done. Officers revealed that the persons would later be produced before court where they would be given an option to either undergo a de-addiction programme or face punitive action, depending on the courts directives.
The police had busted a party organised at Oakwood Premier Hotel,Juhu,on May 20 and had taken blood and urine samples of the guests. As many as 52 men and 38 women were subjected to the tests and 19 of the persons were foreign nationals. Two of those who tested positive for contraband use are cricketers.
Dighavkar said summons were being sent in batches to those who had tested positive. The police, however, have decided to try those who have been accused of possessing contraband.
