A police constables wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her residence in Goregaon West on Monday morning.

A police constables wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her residence in Goregaon West on Monday morning. The police suspect Priyanka Kardekar (33) was upset over her mentally and physically challenged son.

The police,however,did not find any suicide note. Her 15-year-old son was in the house when she hung herself,said the police.

Priyanka was the wife of constable Vilas Kardekar,who was recently transferred to the Local Arms unit.

Her daughters Nikita and Punita found the body hanging in the living room of their house when they returned home from tuition.

Kardekar was on duty when the incident happened.

A police officer investigating the case said that there was no suicide note found on Kardekar. We tried asking her son who was present in the house,but since he mentally challenged,he could not reveal anything. We are now recording the statements of her daughters and husband, said an officer.

Preliminary investigations,however,revealed that Priyanka was disturbed because of her sons disability.
