Lakhs of candidates appearing for exams to be held by Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will now be able to see their answers online as well as the correct ones at their individual website log-ins. Not only will it become the verification process become easier for them, but they will also be able to raise objections, if any, for any answers.

Up until now, this facility was available only for the MHT-CET exam held by the Maharashtra CET Cell. Students who appear for the MHT-CET can see their answers and compare those with correct answers on the system, after the exam. These students could also raise objections, if any.

According to the CET Cell, extending this service to all 19 entrance tests held by the CET Cell for various professional courses, will bring transparency and automatically reduce the number of grievances by candidates regarding correction doubts.

Commissioner of the Maharashtra CET Cell, Mahendra Warbhuwan, said, “We are now extending this service to all exams held by the CET Cell. The idea is to bring complete transparency. Candidates will now get to compare their answers with correct answers on their own in case they feel the need for re-verification. And since correct answers are already in the public domain, candidates will also have a chance to object to any answer if they are not convinced.”

Explaining the process, an official from the CET Cell said, “Every candidate has his/her individual log-in once they register for any of the various entrance tests held by the CET Cell for admission to various professional courses in Maharashtra such as engineering, law, pharmacy, nursing etc. These individual profiles would include all factual details of respective candidates. Now it will also show correct answers of questions asked in the exam along with answers given by the candidate. In other words, this is a simple form of re-evaluation, where each candidate can compare his/her answers with actual correct answers which were the basis of the correction.”

According to the tentative schedule of various CETs held by the Cell, exams are likely to be held between March – May 2024. As the registration process for the Maharashtra CET Cell has begun, candidates will now be able to continue with a single registration for entrance test as well as admission application. The CET Cell has also brought in technological interventions such as tokens for grievance redressal and chatbots to guide candidates through the process.
