Art with heart

India’s first art hotel,Le Sutra in Khar,got quite a boost with the presence of Australian film director Baz Luhrmann and his artist friend Vincent Fantauzzo. The duo from Down Under had been travelling across Rajasthan and had created a photographic montage of their trip. This collection was put up at Le Sutra on February 2,in an exhibition-cum-sale which will run till February 22 and the proceeds from this will go to Deeds,a charity for the hearing-impaired. Supporting the Australian guests’ cause were Mumbai’s glitterati like Imtiaz Ali,Dino Morea (mystifyingly enough wearing a cap indoors),singer Raageshwari and Alyque Padamsee with daughter Raell and former wife Dolly Thakore. Gul Panag,with a chic new hair cut,looked lovely in a LBD,while Celina Jaitley was dressed in her recent uniform of sexy saris,without her trademark light contact lenses. The extended Bedi family was present—Pooja hung out with dad Kabir and his girlfriend Parveen Dusanj. One surprise spotting was reclusive singer Lucky Ali.

Bummer Kashmera Shah,who came wearing a lime green body-con dress with a plunging neckline and paired it with boots and a mang tikka,probably thought Baz was casting for Moulin Rouge Part Deux. Too bad.
