Anti-ADAG posters: police register case

The Khar police have registered a case against unidentified persons for putting up stickers and posters defaming industrialist Anil Ambani and the Anil Dirubhai Ambani Group at various locations.

The Khar police have registered a case against unidentified persons for putting up stickers and posters defaming industrialist Anil Ambani and the Anil Dirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) at various locations.

The police said stickers carrying the ADAG logo along with objectionable and defamatory remarks about Ambani and the Group were found pasted at various places in Pali Hill and other areas.

Pratap Dighavkar,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9),said a manager-level ADAG official lodged a complaint of defamation and misuse of the Group’s logo.

“The posters contained a mobile number and advertised ‘full body massage done here’,” said Dighavkar.

Dighavkar added that when a police team reached the spots at which the posters were put up,shopkeepers and residents told them that they had seen men on a motorcycle who had stuck the posters and fled.

“Based on prima facie investigations,it seems an act of mischief rather than revenge for some grievance. We are investigating the case. We are in the process of tracing the motorcycle seen in the locality. We are also trying to find out whose mobile phone number was put up in the posters. Though the number is switched off,we have asked the service provider to give us the details of the number,” said Dighavkar.
