Ludhiana MP and the national spokesperson of AICC,Manish Tewari,on Saturday said that total anarchy is prevailing in Punjab and the government has abdicated its authority with quite a number of Akali workers and leaders becoming a law unto themselves.

Addressing a public function organised by Paramjit Singh Gawadi at the Gawadi village,Tewari pointed out that the way the state’s civil servants, police officials and engineers were being mercilessly stripped and manhandled publicly showed the sad state of affairs in the state.

He said that even the measures taken by the Badal government were just a mere eyewash.

The Ludhiana MP pointed out that never had it happened in the history of the state, that the ministers were abused and the officials beaten up with due patronage from the government.

He wondered as to what made the BJP still continue with the government despite so much insult and humiliation hurled at them.

He disclosed that the state government had got Rs 21,000 crore from the Centre for distributing bonus among the farmers. But it had distributed only Rs 11,000 crore till now.
