Suvidha centre staff go on strike

Staff of the Suvidha centre went on a pen-down strike causing sever inconvenience to people visiting the DC's offices came.

Staff of the Suvidha centre went on a pen-down strike on Thursday causing sever inconvenience to people visiting the DC’s offices came. The strike will continue even tomorrow,which is a part of the statewide strike called by the Suvidha staff. The employees are protesting the revision of salaries and other demands which were accepted by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in October 2009,but have not been implemented till date.

Association member Shyam Sunder said they will conduct another meeting on September 25 and will plan the next course of action.

However,the general public was caught unaware after they saw the empty Suvidha centre. The Suvidha centre processes applications of more than 15 services being provided by the DC office. A few of these include applications for arms licence,driving license,applications for land demarcation and many other services.
