Submit licence info within 15 days,police tells arms holders

Following the firing incident in Sarabha Nagar market two days back,Ludhiana police commissioner Nirmal Singh Dhillon asked all the people possessing arms to submit the details of their licences in their nearest police stations within 15 days failing which legal action will be initiated.

Police had booked two people in the firing case and following the incident a drive to verify arms licences was started. Jaskirat Singh,the ADCP investigating this case said they were yet to verify if the firing was done with an arms having a genuine licence or not. However,the incident has made the police alert.

In Ludhiana commissionerate area alone,173 new licences were passed in 2013 while 329 new licences were passed in Khanna and Jagraion sub-divisions.
