Road safety study

To deal with the traffic problem of the city,a team comprising Dr Dinesh Mohan,professor Emeritus,Volvo Chair IIT,Delhi and Dr Kallaga,professor IIT,Delhi,along with their research team visited Ludhiana on Friday.

To deal with the traffic problem of the city,a team comprising Dr Dinesh Mohan,professor Emeritus,Volvo Chair IIT,Delhi and Dr Kallaga,professor IIT,Delhi,along with their research team visited Ludhiana on Friday.

They were invited by Dr Kamalzit Soi,Vice Chairman of Punjab State Road Safety Council to study different aspects of Traffic Management and Road Safety. “This initiative was taken on the instructions of Transport Minister Surjeet Kumar Jiyani,” said Soi.

Separate meeting were conducted with Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana,DTO ,CMO,SP Traffic,Additional Commissioner Ludhiana,senior deputy Mayor and their team,Commissioner of Police Ludhiana and his team.

The goal is to study road safety and accident reduction,free flow of traffic and de-congestion of the city. The study will focus on the videography of the roads,analysis of accident data and all aspects of traffic management so that residents are ensured free movement of traffic.

The first report will be submitted in 45 days. All short and long terms measures will be considered.
