PAU staff stir continues

The PAU employees today continued their agitation to protest against the state governments failure to release grant for revised pay scales as recommended by the 5th Punjab Pay Commission.

The Punjab Agricultural University Teacher Association (PAUTA) and PAU Fourth Class Workers Unions spearheaded the rally. All the non-teaching,teaching and class IV employees from various departments of the university participated in the rally.

After the protest rally held in the morning,a group of five executive members,Harbans Singh Mundi,President,PAU Employees Union,Dr. K.N.Sharma,President,PAUTA,. Avinash Kumar Sharma,General Secretary,PAU Employees Union,Ashwani Kumar Nauriyal,Cashier,PAU Employees Union and Dr. Harmit Singh Kingra,ViCe-President,PAUTA sat on sharna. This chain of dharna and rally will continue till Friday the 4th December. The agitation will be intensified further if the demand of the implementation of revised pay scales was not met,said Lakhwinder Singh Sandhu,vice-president,PAU Non-teaching Employees Union.
