NSS camp organised

A day-long NSS camp was organised at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School,Katani Kalan,in association with the Tarksheel Society,Punjab,to prevail upon volunteers to adopt the scientific temper and rational approach. The camp was organised under the supervision of Kulpreet Singh,NSS programme officer. About 100 volunteers participated in the camp.

During his interaction with the volunteers,Raj Kumar,an office bearer of the Tarksheel Society,said that the practice of superstitions was so deep-rooted that even with rapid growth of scientific knowledge,it was difficult to change the mental set-up of the people. Kulpreet Singh regretted that many individuals,social and national projects were delayed,postponed or even cancelled because of these superstitions which had an adverse impact on our economy and prosperity.

Principal Balwinder Kaur thanked the office-bearers of the society and asked the volunteers to get rid of superstitions and take to education which had the capacity to develop self-confidence and rationality among the students.
