New DCC chief soon

Several names are being considered for the post of president of District Congress Committee (DCC),a list of which has been sent by MP Manish Tiwari to the newly appointed PPCC president,Captain Amarinder Singh.

Councillors Hem Raj Aggarwal,Gurpreet Gogi,Parminder Mehta and Ashok Prashar Pappi and former PPCB director Ramesh Joshi are believed to be in the fray. Present incumbent Jagmohan Sharma,who has already completed 10 years as DCC president,is still interested for a third innings; but sources say that two terms is the maximum for any DCC president.

“I am still interested to serve for more years. It is up to the party high command to decide,” Sharma said. Meanwhile,it has also been declared that the new DCC president will not be given party ticket for any election.
