The committee monitoring the dog sterilisation programme has objected to the dog catching time given by Doggy Lane the company sterilising the dogs.
As per the schedule, workers will be going in the wards to catch dogs after 10 am. However,Dr Sandeep Jain,Member Wildlife Board, said,In the earlier meetings it was decided that early morning hours are the best to catch dogs as they are less active and even the traffic on the roads is less. However,it seems that the company is doing an eyewash in the name of this programme.
In addition to this,Dr Jain said, instead of the whole ward, the mohallas of the wards need to be mentioned in the schedule because members of the monitoring committee cannot roam in the entire ward to search where the programme is going on.
MC Commissioner AK Sinha, when asked, said,I will check up regarding the time schedule, but we had decided in the meeting that instead of mohallas, the ward numbers should be mentioned, because it is not sure, from which mohalla dogs will be available on any day.
