Miscreants damage ATM machine, try to loot money

On Friday morning, the cops informed the bank officials who reached the spot and checked the ATM machine and found cash safe.

Police officials said late on Thursday night two miscreants entered the ATM booth of Axis Bank in Shimlapuri area and started cutting the ATM machine with a gas cutter. They had almost broken the machine from side and were trying to bring out the cash tray.

In the meantime, a team led by the ASI of Shimlapuri police station, which was on patrolling duty, came there. The accused saw the cops and managed to escape. When the ASI reached the ATM booth, he found the ATM machine was damaged but the accused had already managed to escape.

The police are scanning the CCTV footage.

It was the second attempt to loot ATM in the last one week. Few days ago, the miscreants attempted to loot an ATM machine in Focal Point area but failed to take cash and damaged the ATM machine with the gas cutter.
