The Multicrore Ludhiana City Centre (LCC) case involving former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and others,was adjourned on Saturday till August 8 for consideration on the framing of charges in the case. The former CM and other high profile accused in the case were present in the court today to attend the court hearing here.

In another application filed by the former CM in this case,the court also framed issues and adjourned the application for September 12.

The court also framed issues in an application moved by the Vigilance Bureau (VB) for initiating criminal proceedings against the former CM on charges of producing fake medical certificate for getting exemption from personal appearance,on a hearing in this case. The court directed the VB to produce evidence on September 12.

After the court hearing,the former CM Capt Amarinder Singh said that the the SAD-BJP government had brought the state to bankruptcy and now was trying to sell off or mortgage government properties for overcoming this financial crisis.

Capt said that the state was passing through a serious electric power and financial crises. He said that it was the responsibility of the state to provide power for irrigation,industry,commercial and to other consumers on whatever source possible.

He claimed during his tenure as CM he ensured that the state was provided with all its power requirements and that he had made purchases from sources as far Bhutan to meet the requirement.

In reply to another question,the former CM said that the Akali leaders who were involved in the fake stamp paper scam in Ludhiana were seeking government’s patronage in getting the case hushed up but he warned that the Congress on coming to power in Punjab would reopen the case and seek justice.

Several Congress leaders including Surinder Dawar ex parliamentary secrertary,Malkiat Singh Birmi ex-minister,Pawan Dewan,Dharamjit Singh Khera,Gurkirat Singh Kotli and number of Congress workers were present there.
