Kidnapping case: Four remanded in police custody,two in judicial custody

The court of judicial magistrate Rupa Dhaliwal on Thursday remanded four accused involved in kidnapping of industrialist Manish Bahrara in police custody and the other two in judicial custody.

The court of judicial magistrate Rupa Dhaliwal on Thursday remanded four accused involved in kidnapping of industrialist Manish Bahrara in police custody and the other two in judicial custody.

Advocate Harpreet Sandhu appeared on behalf of complainant Harminder Pal Singh,a resident of Sarabha Nagar. Sarabjeet Singh and Deepali Bassi were sent to judicial custody while the rest,Guruarpan Chauhan,Sonu Churasia,Himmat Singh and Pappu were sent to police custody till July 28.

Manish was kidnapped from Doraha while he was returning home from his factory. Later,a ransom of Rs 5 crore was demanded. The family paid the ransom but the next day,police arrested the kidnappers.

Out of the Rs 5- crore ransom,police recovered Rs 4.61 crore. The mobile phone,purse,credit cards,driving licence of Manish also had to be recovered because of which police remand of the accused was sought,said Sandhu.
