PAU employees union chief elected
A meeting of the executive members of the PAU Employees United Front was held on Wednesday under the leadership of Assa Singh Pannu,where Ranjodh Singh Grewal was unanimously chosen the new chairman of the front. The post was laying vacant after the removal of Avtar Singh recently.

Factory in Sunder Nagar gutted
A major fire was reported in a T-shirt factory located in Sunder Nagar on Wednesday. The incident occurred at 2 am and it took firemen 5 hours to douse the flames. Naresh Jain,owner of the factory,said goods worth lakhs of rupees have been reduced to ash. The building did not have any fire-fighting equipment in place.

Award money distributed
Neelam Sharma,officiating principal of Government College for Women,distributed Rs 10000 among the dance students of the college on Wednesday. The money was awarded by Sukhbir Singh Badal,Deputy Chief Minster,Punjab,at the state sports tournament.

Karigiri,a theme jewellary brand,has opened its outlet in Westend Mall. The store has introduced special earrings which have more than 1500 designs in ‘Rajwaada’,fusion,meenakaari,swarovski and metal.
