Painting contest organised
LUDHIANA:Guru Nanak International Senior Public School,Model Town,conducted Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools (Central Zone) Fine Arts on-the-spot painting competition. Students from 24 schools participated in this competition. Students used different mediums of painting from pencil sketching and shading to crayons,water colours,oil colours and fabric colours.
Free medical camp organised
LUDHIANA:Rising Youth Association organized a free medical camp at Gurudwara Singh Sabha,Model Gram,here on Sunday. Dr Rakesh Goyal (Endocrinology),Dr RK Goyal (Chest) and Dr Anil Aggarwal (Ortho) along with the support staff examined 335 patients,who were given away free medicines. Diagnostic tests were conducted free of cost. Gurinder Chahal,the president of the association,thanked the doctors and the staff.
LUDHIANA:The Directorate of Extension Education,PAU is organizing a three-day training course on mushroom cultivation and processing from December 9-11 in the Kairon Kisan Ghar on the university campus. The beneficiaries will include development officers from State Department of Agriculture and Horticulture,PAU District Extension Specialists and teachers from Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
Annual meet held
LUDHIANA:The fifth bi-annual conference of BSNL Employees Union,Punjab circle,concluded here on Sunday with a clarion call to fight against the disinvestment,privatization policies of the UPA government. The conference gave a call to all the employees from lower level to top level management to start a joint campaign for the expansion and growth of the BSNL. The conference seriously noted the declining market share and profit of the BSNL.
Blood camp organised
LUDHIANA:Maharaja Aggarsain Sewa Sangh,BRS Nagar,on Sunday organised a blood donation camp at Shri Luxmi Narayan Madnir Dharamshala here with the help of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. The camp was inaugurated by RS Patial,Principal of DAV Public School,inaugurated the camp. On this occassion,staff members of DAV Public
school were among the 200 people who donated blood on the occasion.
