Have you set any priority for the development of Khanna sub-division?
I will try to tackle all the problems being faced by the residents of the city. One of my top priorities would be to conduct free and fair elections in the Khanna for coming Lok Sabha elections and smooth procurement of wheat from grain markets.

What arrangements have been done by the administration for the Lok Sabha elections?
We are monitoring law and order situation regularly. Elections will be conducted in a free, fair and impartial manner so that people can vote without any fear. We are conducting meetings with all political parties every week and the representatives of political parties are very cooperative. We have planned everything as per the directions of the Election Commission. An employee from the Central government will be appointed as micro-observer at sensitive and hyper-sensitive booths. An officer will be appointed in 10 polling booths who will report any problems at these booths. We have chalked out a communication planner. The telephone numbers of three residents at nearby police station have been sent to the election commission so that it can directly take report from people.

What are you doing for the smooth procurement of wheat?
I have directed all the officers of government procurement agencies for smooth purchase of wheat. Rainy weather has created many problems but they have been tackled. Lifting of wheat from the grain market is being done regularly. Payments are made in time. If any farmer faces any problems,he can approach me.

Khanna is facing traffic problems, how do you plan to tackle them?
The traffic problems in Khanna town are due to temporary encroachment by shopkeepers and rehri owners. I have directed the National Highway Authority of India,PWD and the Municipal Council to remove encroachments for the smooth flow of traffic. The flyover project on the GT Road will ease out the traffic problems. A railway overbridge will be constructed soon at the Lalheri road railway crossing to tackle the problem.

What are you doing to improve administration at the tehsil complex?
I have directed all the officials of the tehsil to solve the grievances of the public in time. We are morally bound to serve the people in free and fair manner. If any person faces any problem,he can contact me directly.
