With the arrest of three persons,the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-I police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang involved in preparing fake documents of vehicles ownerships,driving licenses and other documents. The police have seized two computers,some fake documents and other goods being used to prepare fake documents.
The arrested persons have been identified as Harpreet Singh,Varinder Singh and Jagdeep Singh. All three are the residents of Shimlapuri.
Addressing a press conference here today,SP (Detective) Surinder Kalia told the mediapersons that the CIA-I in-charge,Sub-Inspector (SI) Gurpreet Singh had received a secret information that these three persons were involved in preparing fake documents regarding the ownership of the vehicles and fake driving licenses along with other fake papers. On the basis of this information,the CIA police party arrested the accused from the Shimlapuri area late last evening. Later,on their disclosure statement,the police recovered the two computers and other goods with the help of which the accused used to prepare fake documents.
SP Kalia said that further investigation was on against the arrested persons. He said that more revelations were likely to be made with their further questioning. The SP said that the arrested persons had been booked in a case at Shimlapuri police station.
