Following the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to auction 13 parking lots on the Ferozepur road,

MC officials have not achieved anything of note. After the auction of July 29 in which only three lots were auctioned after slashing prices by more than 50%,the auction of the remaining six sites on Thursday was cancelled as only one bidder came to participate.

The MC received the worst response till now in all auctions held for auctioning these sites.

The next court hearing on September 6 has further tightened the noose around MC officials.

The six lots that are finding no buyers (base prices in brackets) are Sheeraj Hotel street to Bharat Nagar Chowk (Rs 14.43 lakh),Gurudev Nagar upto Sandhu Tower (Rs 14 lakh),Malhar road to Mandir street,Sarabha Nagar (Rs 12 lakh),Circuit House to Aarti Chowk (Rs 20 lakh),PAU gate no.1 to Circuit House road (Rs 11,52,000) and Bhaiwala chowk to Irrigation department (Rs 21,60,000).

Naveen Malhotra,the MC official looking after the project,said,Now we will send a report to the commissioner who will further decide if re-auction will be held on same prices or they will be slashed further.
