Double delight for Sachin

It was a day of double delight for Sachin Kumar of DAV Public School,Sector 8 as he claimed two titles on the final day of the AITA Total Tennis Talent Series which concluded at Total Tennis Academy Manav Mangal School,Phase X,Mohali on Friday.

In the boys’ Under-14 category,Sachin Kumar ended the challenge of Ankit Paraspuria of Rajasthan in straight sets by 6-4,6-2 while in the under-14 doubles category,he paired up with Srijan Uppal to claim the title by defeating Sumit Pal Singh and Santbir Singh in straight sets by 6-2,6-3 in the final.

In the boys’ Under-14 singles final,Kumar showed complete dominance as he rallied to an easy 6-4,6-2 win in straight sets. He claimed the firsts et comfortably by a margin of 6-4 before claiming the second and final set 6-4 to claim the title. In the Under-14 doubles’ final,Sachin paired up with Srijan Uppal to end the challenge of Chandigarh’s Sumit Pal Singh and Santbir Singh. The winning duo won the first set with a margin of 6-2 before claiming the final set with a margin of 6-3.

In the Under-12 boys’ final,Pranav Kumar of Punjab ended the challenge of second seed Param Pun of Chandigarh in a well fought match which lasted for more than two hours. Pranav lost the first match with a margin of 4-6 before paving his way back into the match. He won the nest two sets with an identical margin of 6-4 to claim the title.

In the girls’ Under-12 final,second seed Nandini Sharma of Chandigarh rallied her way to the title as she ended the challenge of top seed Vanshika Sawney of Chandigarh in straight sets by 7-6 (0),6-1 in 70 minutes. Sharma claimed the first set with a narrow margin of 7-6 before rallying to win the second set 6-1 to claim the title.

In the girls’ Under-14 category,Harman Kaur of Punjab ended the challenge of Nikita Bishnoi of Chandigarh in straight sets by 6-4,6-2 to emerge as the winner. Kaur claimed the first set by 6-4 before winning the second set comfortably by 6-2.
